Happy New Year - 2026!
Posted about 1 month ago by Jaimeson Hatch

With our calendars flipping from one year into the next, the focus inevitably shifts to the “new”. New year…new resolutions…new outlooks…new starts. Maybe your goals include finishing up a degree or certificate you’ve been working towards. Perhaps you’re committing to complete one random act of kindness per week. Or maybe you want to drink more water and focus on becoming your best physical self.
No matter what you’re working towards, don’t forget to promise time in your days and weeks just for you.
As full time caregivers, the people we often forget to give care to are ourselves. When “self care” feels like another pressing commitment on our never ending to-do list, promise yourself you’ll take time each day to pause and do what makes you happy.
Maybe it’s having an impromptu dance party in the kitchen while your coffee brews (next to your full water bottle, of course!). It could be blasting your favorite song while you sit in the school pick up line, singing loudly enough to be heard beyond the close windows. It may also be stealing five minutes from something else to go outside and stand in the sun, breathing in fresh air and reminding yourself of what’s important.
You are the cup that pours into others so be sure you’re filling your own cup to overflowing every chance you get.
Our New Year’s wish to you is that these small moments find you every single day this year, so you can look back at 365 times you held space for yourself , in order to hold space for everyone else.
